Madagascar is much more than a beach destination—it’s a destination in its own right. Home to wildlife found nowhere else on earth, the island combines lemurs, chameleons and other endemic species with rainforests, dramatic landscapes, baobabs and beautiful Indian Ocean beaches. It’s ideal for adventurous travellers who want wildlife, nature and culture alongside time on the coast.
April–November is generally the best time to visit, when rainfall is lower and wildlife viewing is at its best. April–June and September–November are particularly good shoulder periods, while July and August are driest but can be cooler in the highlands. December–March brings heavier rains and cyclone risk, particularly along the east coast.
