Rwanda is best known for intimate encounters with endangered mountain gorillas, combined with beautiful landscapes, exceptional conservation and some outstanding luxury lodges. It works beautifully as a shorter addition to a traditional East African safari.

WHEN TO GO

Gorilla trekking is possible year-round, although the drier periods of June–September and December–February generally offer easier trekking conditions. The wetter months bring lush landscapes and can mean fewer visitors.
